Falling Through the Ice
Connection Speed: Low | Medium | High
Have you ever imagined how you would survive falling through the ice?
Most of us look at frozen lakes and ponds and think “it’s just fine, it’s frozen enough-after all it’s freezing outside!” But it’s not that simple. There are many reasons why icy ponds or frozen lakes might have weak spots in the ice, anything from animals digging, cracks forming from the heavy weight of a snowmobile, to an ice fisher who covered the hole back up. There could even be warm currents in the water melting spots in the ice.
But I’m not here to tell you to avoid being on the ice, I’m here to tell you how to get out if the worst happens and you fall through the ice.
This episode gives you a visual step by step instruction on how to think the situation through and how to get out when you’ve fallen through the ice.
